Michelle L. Abruzzo joined Shaw & Murphy, PLLC in November 2015 bringing over a decade of local and international legal and business experience. Ms. Abruzzo graduated New York Law School, summa cum laude, in 2004 after receiving her B.S. in Psychology, with honors from SUNY Stonybrook in 2001. While in law school, Ms. Abruzzo served as an Executive Articles Editor for the New York Law School Law Review; was the Executive Editor and a coach for the New York Law School Moot Court Association; and clerked for the Honorable Harold J. Baer, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Following law school, Ms. Abruzzo joined a large New York City law firm as an associate gaining significant experience in corporate bankruptcy, real estate and commercial disputes. Ms. Abruzzo also brings significant experience as a general practitioner, having assisted in cases covering a wide variety of legal disciplines. In addition, having pursued various business endeavors, both locally and internationally, Ms. Abruzzo provides excellent advice for small business owners and start-ups.

A Long Island native, Ms. Abruzzo recently returns to New York from a five year stay in Cape Town, South Africa where she acted as a legal consultant to various companies looking to expand their businesses to American markets. Ms. Abruzzo brings a wide range of skills and talents to Shaw & Murphy.
