Greek Life Services for Fraternities & Sororities
Greek Life attorneys and staff use a team approach to provide your organization with our services that are beneficial and cost effective. We have over 30 years of experience with the many issues facing Greek Life organizations:
Campus Disciplinary Proceedings: We provide representation when allegations or charges are brought against a chapter, its members, or both.
Not-for-Profit Corporations: We help clients create appropriate corporate structures for their undergraduates, alumni and real estate holdings.
Building and Fire Code Compliance: We help educate both managers and residents on the importance of following safety guidelines, and how to work with code compliance officers both on campus and in local government to ensure smooth, safe operation of chapter houses.
Real Property Management: We help find appropriate real property managers, contest real property tax assessments, evaluate historic preservation issues, address zoning and planning issues, solve insurance coverage issues and conduct contract negotiations.
Landlord/Tenant Issues: We help clients craft appropriate leases and other agreements for their chapter houses, whether owned by alumni or by their academic institutions.
University Relations: We provide advice on how to maintain a good working relationship with the college or university, and when needed help you with compliance issues.
Collections: We can assist you in taking appropriate steps to ensure you collect full membership fees/dues owed to the chapter.
Education: We can provide your chapter with information which addresses various legal issues such as hazing, substance abuse, bystander awareness, anti-bullying, countering sexual violence and abuse, and similar topics. We can also provide a “Legal Liabilities Presentation” at your chapter house to educate members on how to minimize liability faced within the Greek system.
